The construction of 139 schools and kindergartens has started

Construction of 139 schools and kindergartens has begun in preparation for the 2025-2026 school year in the capital. 58 of these structures are being built with capital and district funds. As of today, 15 schools and kindergartens are operational. Twenty more schools and kindergartens are scheduled to open this year, while a total of 177 schools, kindergartens, and hospitals are being renovated. Winter preparations, including school and kindergarten classroom renovations, utilities, and heating supply, are now 82% complete. 

In Ulaanbaatar, 114 kindergarten facilities and 45 school buildings were built and opened between 2020 and 2024. This year, special measures were taken to address 30 structures (11 kindergartens, 16 schools, 3 primary schools, and kindergarten complexes) that were not completed on time in prior years. Of the nine buildings that have been put into operation, four have received additional budgets, four are having construction accelerated, six require additional funding, one has land issues, and six are being resolved in court. This year, 296 children's buses will operate at the capital's secondary schools. Every six months, technical inspections and diagnostics are performed on children's buses.
