Opening ceremony of “Ulaanbaatar 2023” East Asian Youth Games held

The opening ceremony of the Games was supposed to start at 20:23 on August 16, but due to weather conditions, it was delayed by 24 hours, and the ceremony was held at the same time yesterday. It started with the flag hoisting ceremony of Mongolia.

The East Asian Olympic Committee unites nine National Olympic Committees. At the "Ulaanbaatar 2023", more than 870 athletes from seven national Olympic committees are competing in 12 types of 11 sports. The opening ceremony continued with a parade of athletes from the national committees of the countries, a flag hoisting ceremony of the East Asian Olympic Committee, and the singing of the anthem of the Games.

After the opening speech of the relevant officials, the representatives of the athletes and referees took the oath. In the EAYG, 255 Mongolian athletes are participating and competing in all types of sports.

Tickets for the competition can be ordered on the website www.ticket.mn and can be purchased at sales points. The closing ceremony of the Games will be held on August 23 at Sukhbaatar square.
