The Ulaanbaatar tram project's feasibility study is scheduled to be finished in April

The Ulaanbaatar Tram Project is implemented as part of the 24 mega project to develop Ulaanbaatar to reduce traffic congestion in the capital. Project Director B. Anu-Ujin clarified that the feasibility for the first line of the project is 60 percent complete, and the feasibility study for the second line is 80 percent complete.

 “By April, the project's feasibility study will be finished, and suggestions from global organizations will be gradually accepted and integrated. An international open tender will be announced prior to June, and construction is scheduled to start this summer.” Project Director B. Anu-Ujin stated.

The construction of several public transportation systems in the capital city is an aim of Ulaanbaatar's master plan for development through 2040. From Sukhbaatar Square to Zunjin, the first tram route is expected to be 10.2 kilometers long with 14 stations. From Sukhbaatar Square to Steppe Arena, the second tram line is expected to be 15.8 kilometers long, with 19 stations.
